Have you ever had such an extremely nerdy moment that you could feel your nerd cred sky rocketing? Like, you either did or said something that maybe only you or a few really nerdy friends got?

A couple of days ago my girlfriend and I were being stereotypical teens and making out at her house and somehow we made a really weird noise. We laughed about it and she said something like "How did that happen?" So, of course, I said "Science!" and explained to her my experiment. We'd have a short french kiss (control) and then alternate breathing. So she'd breath out and I'd breath in, then we'd both breath out at the same time and then we'd both breath in at the same time. It turns out breathing in at the same time made the weird sound. She made fun for the next couple of days. =P

A less nerdy and less personal moment:

I saw a jacket that said H2 OH! Like H2O, but that wasn't right. I pointed it out and said "That's like, Hydrogen Hydroxide, or whatever, not water!"

In August the Girl and I are moving to an apartment whose number is 314. I'm going to have a really hard time resisting the urge to add a decimal point.

lol our school had "The Nerd Club", where on Tuesday afternoons we'd bring in video and computer games and whatnot. (Warcraft 3, Starcraft, DDR, Unreal Tournament, etc.) I used to go for the Super Smash Bros. Melee tournaments.

During the school president elections, when we were allowed to ask the nominees questions, I asked: "Is there going to be better funding for the Nerd Club?" Oh I got all the laughs.

My friends always tease me because once, when asked if I would rather have my friends die or my computer die, I hesitated for a while and said "Would I get to back up the files first?"

Today in zoology we heard a Bird call that sounded exactly like the language Leia spoke when she was in disguise as a bounty hunter in episode 6. I yelled that in the middle of class....

I remember I once read a javascript book on the bus. The thing is, it was a field trip bus, where everyone is having fun and laughing and stuff.

that reminded me of a roadworker's sign with TRS stencilled on the back. I saw it and started thinking "I should write -80 behind it!".

"nerd cred"??? my heart rate has increased! Talk nerdy to me! hahaha... which reminds me, I was looking through a catalogue once and saw a T-shirt that said "Talk nerdy to me" and had a pair of glasses on it... OMG BEST T-SHIRT EVER, why didn't I order it!???

That's annoying to get picked at while you're trying to read; when I was in grade nine some silly guy would tease me when I was reading a sociology textbook ("Why are you reading an encyclopedia??" hur hur hur) but that's sort of different

You don't get cred for that, since you were only a nerd relative to your company. You actually have to be doing something nerdy to get points. It can't just seem nerdy because of your surroundings. If we didn't set this requirement, people from MIT would never get nerd cred, and, in the right crowd, the president would be able to get nerd cred.

Uhh that's why I said it was different. I was not attempting to increase cred. I was merely noting the it is annoying to be bugged while reading

That's pretty dang hot.

Well, this isn't MY nerd cred moment, but there's apparently a photo in existence of my friend Stephanie sitting on the supports of a roller coaster, reading.

Sitting.

On the supports of a roller coaster.

Reading.

Seconded.

I've quoted bash.org in real life, memorized my IP address, and once tried to hit ctrl-z while I was drawing on PAPER.

I went to see 28 Weeks Later with a couple of friends and we tried to find a place that could fit us all. So I turned to my friend and I said "If we defragged the theater we could optimize seating and find a spot for us."
