What exactly do you mean "bad"?

You mean like 80's arcade game style? Cause thats the point...

I enjoy the newer games. And Strong Bad Talker. Which games do you mean?

They rock because they are made to be bad so we have to see them as rock because they are bad.

If you dont apreicate the classic-esque games, then that is just sad... :poop: . I really like peasants quest, I mean, its a pretty decent game. Stinkoman 20X6 is okey... dont personally like it, but it is certainly quality work.

What I love about H*R games is--many of them not only parody old games, but they are games in themselves. Granted, some of them are very simple. But isn't that the beauty of them? And the Dman trilogy, not to mention PQ, are all awesome games of their own right. Even Dman 1, which is just based on the email video games, is a pretty clever text adventure. By the time they got Dman 3 and PQ, the games were awesome. Both had great puzzles, were hilarious, and fun to play. The MMORPG Kingdom of Loathing, which I usually like, has this pathetic quest based off of the Zork text adventure. Those who are familiar with Zork think it's hilarious, but it's not a very good game if you haven't played it. Dman and PQ, on the other hand, are all challenging, interesting games, as long as you like text adventures.

...You're not one of the mid to late-90's era kids who've grown up playing Halo and Half-Life 2, are you?

I agree with what RotB and others already said about the games being bad in a good way and the way they parody certain aspects of classic gaming/games in general.

What they said...

Yeah, I bet you've never played any of the old like Atari games like Donkey Kong, Pong, Pacman or any of those 8-bit goodies.
I didn't grow up with them, but I have made myself acquainted with them.

Also, yeah, the bad graphics/game play is supposed to be FUNNY. Not a serious aspect of the game.

I mean some games like "Secret Collect" are ment to not be good cause their based on that email. But like Peasents Quest, that's funny, creative, and hard. I like the games that aren't meant to be stupid. Also, does anyone know where Kid Speedy came from? Is it based on anything?

Kid Speedy is most likely a parody of "educational" computer games that often promote nutrition.

Personally, being an early-nineties baby, I don't think graphics are that important. I mean, photo-realistic crap is great, but I grew up playing Star Crusader for DOS with my uncle and Hover with my cousin, and they were both awesome! Star Crusader is why I love space sims now, and Hover, umm... it was cool. it was like, you were a hovercraft and you had to capture the flag... um... I'll just check wikipedia or something. if a game is fun is what matters, and the homestar runner games are fun. mostly. you can actually play the Wii games on the PC, and it's easier. SBZone is a lot more fun with the mouse.

If their goal is to make them look like those old arcade games, then they are amazing.

1994 and i've beaten nearly every mario 2 version...but i'm not 1337 enough to attempt a speedrun...except for mcfryguyver maybe...it's a shame that i wasn't born in the 1980s.

You know, I'd sell all my Venus Flytraps for an actual arcade machine of one of the games on H*R.

Anyone else notice stinkoman isn't purely 8-bit?
(the graphics quality isn't exactly the same when you look closely)

You don't really need to look closely...

I don't really like the Marshie's Malloween Mix-Up game.

The games I think are still great! I still love the old and new games they made here on the site.
