The un-needed joke stretching, annoying eight minute long live action musical numbers, Peter having a new ethnicity every season, Lois, Jillian (lol dumb blond funne), annoying one gag characters (g-t-f-o Greased Up Deaf Guy), annoying "oh it's meg let's hate her ha you suck meg yeah you sure do" crap, and the voice acting in the first season (although this is excusable).

It's an ok show when you don't expect much.

Agree'd. Sometimes, the "humor" gets too much for me.

WE GET IT, HOMER LIKES FOOD MORE THAN FAMILY.

well, you know, it's not all bad. I guess if you wanted to see every joke from every '80's movie and TV show with a lemony hint of original storyline compacted into 22 minutes, there's Family Guy.

Yeah but this is done funnier than "Meg you suck" and Meg cries. Some of Cartman's Jew-attacks make me actually laugh really loud (like the one with Kyle's cousin Kyle and His "concentration" issues).

Yeah. The thing is, gimmicks like that can work great if done properly. Like you mentioned, Noid, Cartmans Jew jokes are often genuinely amusing, because they're well-executed (no pun intended). The jokes about the family hating Meg are all identical. There's no variation or originality. It generally goes like this:

PETER/LOIS/CHRIS/STEWIE/BRIAN: hay meg u suk lol
MEG: ur so meen ima becum an hro nao T_T

Annoying.

But with Cartman, there are jokes like the running joke in one episode about Kyle's "Jew gold" and the joke about sending someone who couldn't concentrate to a concentration camp. Those jokes genuinely make me lol--and not because of shock value, by the way. They're just FUNNY.

I actually thing that the anti-Meg jokes are better than the Cartman jokes on South Park, but this may just be because I am sick of South Park now…

There was one really funny anti-Meg joke in season 4. Early on in the episode, she says something offensive (something about incest I think) and they kick her out of the house. Later on, there's a family discussion about whatever the plot is, Meg says something, and Peter just says, "Meg.... who let you back in the house?" It was well delivered. So I guess my point is, even FG's most hackneyed jokes are sometimes done well.

I thought the "Brian's the new Meg" Meg joke was pretty funny. They were all making fun of Brian, and Meg chimes in. Peter looks at her and says "shut up, Meg".

It's just funny.

I like the random cutaways when they don't interfere with the story.

When they happen during the middle of a good part of the story, they tend to disrupt things.

That was about Meg pleasuring herself to Lois's modeling pictures. Apparently they don't have a problem when Chris says he'll do it, though.

That was in the new episode, right? To be honest, they were just trashing Brian unfairly. That or he's my favorite (I never said I hate it, just the pointless humor sometimes) character.

No, this wasn't the new one. This was the one where Meg gets the job at "Wal Mart". Everyone was making fun of Brian because he didn't have a job. He got one as a taxi cab driver.

My advice to Meg: Become an hero.

Srsly. Then the show might actually get INTERESTING. Come on! There might actually be DEPTH!

I like Family Guy, the only complaint I have is with the voice acting near the beggining, but that's the sme with almost all cartoons.

Heh. Great.

And I mean that in a non-sarcastic way.

Anyway, I don't know anyone that has said in real life that they don't like Family Guy.

A picture of Peter Griffin as an old man, a doctor is telling him he has Alzheimer's. Peter then says, "Remember that time I had Alzheimer's? Because I don't."

SA workin' fine for me.

I like the show. I used to be one of those people who said they hated the show even though I haven't seen it before, and all I heard was that it's overrated. I now have watched it, and I find it to be a solid show. The pop culture cut-away references are funny, but are sometimes tedious.

One thing I CAN respect about this show is how much it makes fun of itself. Like I was watching last night's episode and they were talking about Scrubs and Cleveland was complaining about shows that cutaway from the story and then they went to Hitler on a unicycle.

Juggling some fish, no doubt.

And they later cutaway to that again, but Peter comes and beats him up.

Options that should be removed from poll:

Quote:
I don't not like it.
The characters!
I love it.
The only cartoon I love is Homestar Runner!
Other?!
I don't hate it.

This poll reminds of that time when I ran into (insert pop culture figure) (insert lame musical number).
