Original Trilogy (4-6). Definitely.

Although the special effects weren't as good as the Prequel, I really felt it was better for what it was able to do. There were some parts of the Prequel that I just felt were out of place. There were places where the special effects just seemed to overwhelm rather than help the story progress. Also, I just never could like the guy they picked to play Anakin.

Does anyone like the prequels better than the originals?

4-6.

In fact, I just bought 2 copies of that trilogy.

Local place was having a buy one get one thing on DVDs, so I picked a copy up for my girlfriend.

Trilogy 2 is so much better it's almost not funny.

Trilogy 1 had Episode I and II, which were the two worst in the entire series. Trilogy 2 had Episode V, which was the best one. Seriously, there's no contest here.

Shouldn't IV, V and VI be trilogy one? It came first.

Also, everybody knows the prequels were rubbishy money making pieces of crap.

You're probably right, Helen. But the poll is already set, so for clarification, we probably should stick with it. Just use Original (4-6) and Prequel (1-3) in the posts to keep them straight I guess.

Ace is right on target, though. V is the best of the series, hands down! To me, it feels slightly less campy than IV, and a good bit less campy than VI. I - III were more eye candy than good story-telling, though.

Jar Jar's the decision-breaker here. Prequels.

If any one chooses Episodes I-III, I will string them up by their Achilles' Tendon and hit them like a piñata.

Trilogy 2 (1?)

Seriously though, isn't this poll useless?
I mean, it's obvious that every single person who votes seriously will vote for IV-VI.
I think it would have been better to ask which singular movie was the favourite...

(P.S. In order it's V, IV, III, VI, I, II)

Well, this isnt the first time the majority of us agreed on something.

I like the original trilogy better, but, I gotta say that one of my favorite story blocks has to be Shadows of the Empire. Dash rendar is awesome.

The original. It was nice for George Lucas to tell Darth Vader's backstory over three films, but you gotta love the first stories.

Just like the 100% (right now) of the poll I have to agree that the originals are better. I find it funny despite release date and spoilers in the prequels, people see Star Wars in chronological order usually.

Eh? No one I've ever met has watched Episodes I-III before 4-6. That's just blasphemy, right there.

I thought Return of the Jedi was the worst of the original three...

Ok, who was the jerky that voted the Prequel Trilogy as being better than the original?

4-6.

Though, uh.

*i saw episode I and II before the original trilogy*

Episode II is one of the worst films I have ever seen. III was pretty good, I was mediocre. IV was excellent, V was better, VI was sort of a let down.

Er, not what I meant, but like when ordering it on a list, most people would probably arrange it by chronological order (though it would be only natural I guess...)

Originals. This calls for a DURR.

I like campiness. Ewoks FTW.

Return of the Jedi is VI. I can never decide which of the three I like best. I think V, but I love those chase scenes in the forest.

I know which one it was. I was agreeing with Didy. VI was way too campy. I have no love for the Ewoks.

V is The Empire Strikes Back. Classic movie, through and through.

Oh, I see. Well, I liked Return of the Jedi, before the ewoks came in. A little too lame. But still a great movie.

Wrong.

Did anyone else find Obi Wan's explanation as to why he lied to Luke about Anakin kinda hokey? "From a certain point of few" my eye! You lied, you old creep! Just fess up to it!

Quote:

I wasn't really bothered by the Ewoks themselves so much. It was the fact they built all that siege equipment on such short notice. One moment, they're just a scouting party, and the next they've got gliders, catapults, ballistas, trebuchets, etc. WHERE DID ALL THAT CRAP COME FROM? I figure the only possible explanation is that the Ewoks were already planning an assault on the Imperial installation, and the Rebels just happened to come along at the right time.

But to me, it was the dialogs between Luke, Vader, and the Emperor on the Death Star. Granted, it was all psychological warfare intended to convert Luke to the Dark Side, but a lot of it just came off to me as corny. Like a conversation between Skeletor and He-Man or something.

It's their opinion. They're allowed to vote for who they want to.

And that's the problem with America.

Seriously, though, I haven't actually seen any of the Star Wars films. So, yeah, I suck.

Tell that to half the people voting in the US elections.

I retract my statment.

Uh, I'll join the cool kids club and vote for the originals.

Truth be told, I don't think I've seen every one of them/any of them in one sitting.
