Metallica has had many bass players over the years. Who is your favorite?

Cliff Burton
Played on: Kill 'Em All - Master of Puppets

Jason Newstead
Played on: ...And Justice For All - S&M

Bob Rock
Played on: St. Anger

Robert Trujillo
Played on: Upcoming Ninth Album - ???

I voted for Cliff Burton because he was a big part of their early sound and the band just hasn't been the same without him.

You forgot Ron McCovney.

Cliff Burton, hands down.

Newsted was a mistake, he wasn't a bad bassist, but they should have taken Les Claypool.

Bob Rock ruined Metallica as far as I am concerned.

Rob Trujillo plays a lot like Burton. I can't wait for the new album. I just wish they release it soon. They keep pushing it back and that ticks me off.

Yeah, the album is pretty much done so I don't know why they aren't releasing it sooner. That Mission Metallica thing is pretty cool though.

Yeah, I just joined that mailing list. Anything that offers free back stage passes to every Metallica show this summer is worth it.

I joined too but I haven't gotten any emails from it yet. Is that normal or did I get screwed over?

EDIT:
Unless you live in Texas or wherever Bonnaroo is, those backstage passes are kinda useless.
