I would have just posted this in RT, but due to a random locking of no reasonness, I have to make a thread. I'm planning on geting The Orange Box and playing TF2. What would be the best class to start os someone whose never played before? The classes I've wanted to play are the Scout, Spy, Pyro, and the Engineer.

Pyro, because it takes absolutely no skill to blindly spray fire around.

I still am yet to play TF2, and I am very sad because of it. D=

I'm thinking about getting this game. One thing though, should I get it for the 360, or for my yet to be bought laptop?

Pyro is the most useless class.

Sure, they can be terrifying and awesome, but they're pretty much wimpy.

Soldiers are god tier. You can be a somewhat competent member of your team without any experience. Just aim and click. Speaking of which, soldiers receive minmal damage from their own rockets so if a pyro comes at you. Just shoot two rockets at the ground and you win the fight.

Cause when you're at college, a laptop is easier to work with. You can take it anywhere you want to go to study, and it makes a lot easier to pack and unpack my room.

I played this game for like a day and a half when they did that free weekend and I did the best as a Soldier. Like Jon said, it takes no skill.

TF2 takes no skill whatsoever.

And heres why:

SCOUT: Run, Double Jump, grab intel, shoot, Insta Win.

Soldier: Aim for the feet.

Pyro: Through the Fire and Flames

Demoman: Drop mines everywhere.

Heavy: spray everywhere.

Engineer: Make a Dispenser in the intel room, and build a tier 3 sentry directly on top of the intel.

Sniper: Point and click.

Spy: Disguise, sap everything

Medic: Stand behind the heavy.

Plus, random crits.

Spy was fun to play for the first week the game was released, but now every spy checks automatically so you're better off just trying to sticky the sentries

In case you're slow: Hold left click to charge up a sticky grenade. Holding right click once it's full will leave it at fully charged until you released right click

Sticky grenade? As Demoman, or do you mean the sapper?

Sticky Grenade as Demoman.

You can charge it up and hold the charge.

Sweet. Wait, by "Charge" do you mean the power of eight in one?

No, Charging them makes them go farther.

Extremely useful when you consider that a fully charged sticky can reach a LV3 sentry, and you'll be outside of it's range.

Reminder: Right click detonates so holding charge with right click will make all previous stickies explode

EDIT:

Hmm, maybe I could bind Detonate to something else...

The only problem is staying out of range and fire from Engineers/Spies/Heavies/Scouts/Pyros/Other Demomen/Soldiers/Medics/ Prettymuch everyone else.

Isn't this and other game discussions supposed to go in 'games'? Or is that only for h* related games?

That's only for H*R Related games.

Protip: Everything above "Fun Polls" is only supposed to be H*R Related.
