seriously, this kid is awesome. Why does this kid's mindset remind me of my own?

Seriosly, if you look at the "Slap" he gives her, it looks like he just brushed his hand accross her face, but she says he Raised his hand to her and slapped her, and if thats not what happened on video,(Lest, what it LOOKED like), how can we be sure the things she said that happened before this interview were true? She says she "Does not Recollect" most of the things her son said happened, (And if she essentially lied to heighten dramatic effect about when her kid "slapped" her), then she's obviously lying about said situations.

I seriously feel for this dude.

Hey, you never hear of this kinda' thing in indian homes, man. Kids get hit all the time.
Ever seen a Bollywood film? Wives get beat all the time!

Sometimes I dunno if Child Services is good or not. Hitting your kid when they're young is ok in my opinion, but the organization does prevent a lot of serious physical abuse.

I was whipped when I misbehaved when I was little, and by the time I turned 6 or 7 I wasn't anymore. Why? Because I didn't want to be hit so I stopped being a brat. It worked wonders!

Yes it does, but when your a fat kid who was loved by his mother, then suddenly your sister dies and your mother goes insane, where do you stand?

My mother's mother died and she went insane. I stand where I stood before. I don't care if his sister dies. He doesn't have any right to act that way.

You fail to realize one thing: He's Fat, He's Ten, and he's obviously going to grow up gay fearing women for no good reason, so I think thats reason enough to be a brat.

The same for me. My parents told me and my brother when we were young that for x, y, and z actions the punishment was a spanking (lying, being a brat in public, etc). We knew in advance what the repercussions for our actions was, and that was a pretty good incentive to not do those. Even today I don't like to lie (serious lies, obvious and unimportant lies are amusing: "Hey, are you home?" *from the living room* "No...")

I don't see why all those advocates against corporal punishment for kids see how that works. They seem to think that parents only ever "beat" their kids out of anger. My parents almost never did. They told us in advance what was going to happen, so no surprises for anyone. Heh, plus, on the off chance they were angry, they'd cool off first, leaving us cowering and sniveling in our rooms dreading the inevitable/racking our little heads for an escape plan.

And I agree with Ninti, that boy should not even think to act that way. He's still a 10 year old, he is nowhere near mature enough to be treated as anything past that.

Basically, no one has the right to be a jerk. If they act like a jerk, in reality they give all people surrounding them to respond accordingly ie, be a jerk back or beat it out of him.

And he doesn't seem the gay type. If you ask me, the way his brain works I'd put him down as a pig-headed jerk by the time he hits high school, feeling entitled to whatever woman he wants, and angtsy when they don't flock to him.
