I found it pretty good. Not quite "A Jorb Well Done" but superior to any Teen Girl Squad. Of course, anything with Homsar is a plus.

All I can say now is that it did not hold up considering the 22 months I've been anxiously waiting for a new Big Toon.

Hmm... Well, this toon wasn't as good as the rest of their toons this year. It still had some funny moments. Like with Ted Averill. I give it a 3/5.

I concur. The 60s-esque animation was awesome.

Decent toon and all, but I feel as though it was like a one second gag that goes on for too long. Also, the fact that the entire toon is basically fueled of inside references is kinda pathetic.

3/5

I think they might be concentrating on a St. Patrick's Day toon for next week. That'd explain the lack of creativity this week.

I like The Cheat's space hamster ball, and the "Oh, just nothing =3" was adorable. All-in-all though, it was charming but nothing spectacular. Ahwell, they can't all be home runs.

fixed.

But seriously. Slightly unentertaining, but containing enough inside jokes and newness to make it a little worthwhile.
I was the first to edit the wiki article, but I have no experience with that, and didn't know what to do, so I wrote a dumb little message that instructed the next serious wiki-er to just erase what I wrote. It made me feel important :(( ( ;) ).

EDIT: Okay, not first, but when it was a stub. Just ignore me :homsar:
EDIT II, THE ELECTRIC BUGALOO: Who else here LOVES HOMSAR?‽‽‽!!!!1!!11!!‽

:marzi: Listen out, Life Blossoms! Today, for Career Day, we have a very special visitor.

:hr: Is it that social worker again?

:marzi: No, no! That's all taken care of! The charges were dropped!

i was cracking up at that :D

but overall, about a 3.5/5. had potential, but didn't properly use it

I've been hoping for a long time that they'd add another Big Toon to the site, but I really wasn't all that impressed. Gross-out humor just makes me feel grossed out. The art style of the presentation was a nice touch, just because it was different. I like it when TBC experiments, because even if it doesn't work, it at least shows that they're trying to keep it fresh and not just depend on the same old thing.

The Cheat's space hamster ball was almost worth a point all on its own. Reminds me of the Cheatball. Maybe it's just because The Cheat's cute in a ball. Maybe it's because it reminds me that he's supposed to be some kind of animal, and not just a strange-looking person like most of the other characters. Then again, TBC haven't made the distinction very clear, which I think is all part of the joke. Haven't they lumped all the characters under the category "dumb animal characters" in some interview or DVD commentary or something?

Is it bad that I thought this toon was absolutely adorable? TC in a hamster ball = <3! Strong Bad at the end was cute too, at the risk of analysing something made by two dudes in an apartment I reckon that was some fascinating character experimentation.
Digging the cutout Educational Film style too! Though I think it'd be best if it was only used once.

... "Is it that social welfare guy?" "Oh, no! That's all taken care of. The charges were dropped" have to be the best lines in the entire toon.

For me, the highlights of the comedy were the tinfoil pants & the space pebbles shooting off Captainface's bubble butt. It went downhill durring Homestar's Joke. I want another 4 Gregs.

Ok. I've seen the toon again. 3.5/5

Hehe y'know what Homestar said at the end really reminded me of the Fairly Odd Parents. The one were Timmy's Dad has to find a different job and soon becomes a astronaut and his astronaut suit has a built-in bathroom.

A lot of potty humor, but I guess I should be used to it since I watch Conker's Bad Fur Day cutscenes on Youtube

Speaking personally the ever-growing internal language of the site is one of the things that appeals to me. I suppose it's harder going for newcomers, but if everything was aimed at that level it would be boring, surely?

As for the toon itself it was... okay. Mostly I liked the animation style during the educational film and Strong Bad's creepy new eyes. The bits in the classroom bring to the fore one of the things that most often bugs me in H*R, which is the lack of disposable characters. Sometimes it seems like Free Country USA is occupied by just thirteen people - Marzipan teaches a class, so the students are Homestar, Homsar and Strong Mad; Strong Bad has a fanclub, so the principle member is Strong Sad. Throwing in a few nameless extras to make it less like watching a school play would be pretty sweet

Where are all my hot 60's-looking girls??
And how come?

I was excited when I heard the return of Space Captainface, but the animation kind of ruined it for me. It didn't have that vintage feel of space program at all.

*edit* or at least I thought they did. Perhaps they immediately edited it back back upon reading this...

It said it's the first time Homsar laughs, not Homestar...

I don't know about the rest of you guys giving it low ratings. I Really Liked it.

I loved that style of animation of Strongbad with Real Eyes. The twisted take on those old educational films. I gave it 4 out of 5. Taking points off for the actual class room just to much stupid for being stupid.

TBC used to use a lot of disposable characters, or sometimes reuse the same, flexibly generic characters to fit necessary roles. I think they've become comfortable with the main characters, and have reduced their tendency to make up characters on the spot to fill a need. While sometimes using main characters for these roles expands their characters in interesting ways, it does seem like some of them are overused, and that some instances dilute a character's identity rather than expand it.

In short, I think more characters would be a good thing, and reduce the entry burden a little for new viewers.

the toon was alright enough.

but the major points go to the end with the infectious humour. smiling all the way through that bit.

and a smile is always good.

I loved this toon. It was funny all the way through. Maybe the puke joke could have been done without. But the liftoff without waiting for clearance, the foil pants protecting strong bad from Cosmic Rays!!!, the social worker joke, and of course "if spaceman goes bafroom in pants, does he go boom?" it was hilarious.

And I don't see what the problem is with all the inside humor. I think that is what makes the site so great. It has jokes for new comers, and yet allows the long time fans to find humor. You can enjoy the site without getting all the references, but it is even better if you do.

It was okay, but nothing to write home about.

It seems since the Bros Chap are throwing themselves into video games you pay for (and I'm not blaming them. They are doing this for a living), they aren't giving their best work to the free side.

I haven't seen a Strong Bad Email for like forever. :((

I really just didn't like it. I wanted to, but it just didn't appeal to me. It was too long considering the lack of humour (it had it's moments, just not enough of them). I just hope something better is on the way.
The main thing I noticed that I found to my distaste was the animation style. It seemed to be poking fun at a common animation style in flash cartoons on the internet, which generally aren't particularly well animated, like there are no unnessacary movements which would help add a sense of being in the toon.
2.6/5
sorry

I fear I may poo in my pants...

This was a shock that it was put in as a Big Toon. It's been a while, like, 2 years I think before a Big Toon premiered...

:sb: :sb: :sb: :sb: / :sb: :sb: :sb: :sb: :sb:

It could go without the use of (mentioned) alcohol and cigarettes...

Not the most funny-larious of toons recently, but I was Glad to see the return of SbAsaf! Cap and Strap Fohevah!

And I think the "objectionable" humor was a subtle hint on the presenters that come to High School Health and Drivers Ed classes to teach about things nobody wants to know about.
"Moving images to distract you long enough for your teacher to take a nap, drink, or smoke-break."
--Sounds exactly like my high school health class.

Absolutely did not do it for me. Ranks just above the Li'l Brudder toon in terms of goodness. But still, nice to see some output, though I'd have prefered a new Sbemail.

Or anything with Cardgage in it, that guy craps me up.
